In his book “Glimpses into the corridor of power”, Gohar Ayub Khan wrote that his family belong to Tor Tarin tribe of Pashtun”. Hazara is name of place and not race. People living in Hazara are either Pashtuns origin (Tanoli, Swati and Jadoon) or of Punjab or Kashmiri origin. So Ayub Khan was of Pathan origin of Tor Tarin whose ancestors migrated from Quetta to Multan and later on to ‘Rehana’ Haripur Hazara.
