It is informed with deepest sorrow that PSS-14938 Maj Shahid Mahmood, 7 Baluch (SSH-1 Platoon), expired in AFIC, Rawalpindi, on 22 January 2026 (إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ).
His Namaz-e-Janaza was held on 23 January 2026 in Attock. May Allah grant him a prominent place in Junnat-ul-Firdous and provide strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss, Aameen.
For condolence please call his younger brother, Col Zahid, at 03015518000
Shahid was handicapped since late 70s or early 80s and was on a wheel chair since then. He suffered ‘Paraplegia’ (paralysis of the legs and lower body, caused by spinal injury or disease) during his early service. It was detected and aggravated during Watermanship training and finally his legs were paralyzed. He endured that with courage for over 35 years. He never complained about his condition and was always thankful to Allah.
Gen Zia-ul-Haq inducted him in Computer Branch in GHQ and also sanctioned for him a special car, which could easily be driven by a handicapped person. After his retirement, he settled in Attock, his native town. He regularly attended all Course Get Togethers in Rawalpindi. He was a real brave man.
Rest in Peace, dear comrade.
