Maj Mubashar Ullah was generally keeping good health. In January 2017, he had some persistent cough problem. On detailed investigation and tests, it was revealed that he had a tumor in kidney which has spread to the lungs. The cancer was in advanced stage. He was rushed to United Kingdom for treatment and remained there for two months. He was also a Garrisonian (Garrison Boys High School Lahore Cantt) along with myself and Gen Asif Akhtar.
Shocked to hear of the loss of Major Mubashar Ullah. First met him when I was doing Intelligence Staff Course and we had an exercise at Lahore and later when I was posted to Lahore in 1991. A wonderful human being and an exemplary Police Officer whose Character, Impartiality and Honesty was acknowledged by the Judiciary as well. He reformed the police on military lines and did not let any corrupt people get close to him. He established the Police Training School which I visited in 2003 and he very proudly took me around to show me the excellent arrangements and welfare measures that he had initiated for the trainee police men. Though his father-in-law became the President of Pakistan, Maj Mubashar remained as humble and down to earth as he always was.
May Almighty Allah Bless his soul and grant him the highest place in Heavens and reward him for his honesty.
May Allah rest his soul in peace and grant him a prominent place in Jannat-ul-Firdous.
Deep regrets at the departure of Mubashar: soldier, police officer and Formanite. May the almighty give his family much fortitude to face their irreparable loss.
