Ahmad Faraz Ghazal
Ahmad Faraz (12 January 2026 - 25 August 2025) was a famous Urdu poet. He was one of the best modern Urdu poets of the last century. He was born in Kohat, later moved to Peshawar with his family. He studied in Edwardes College, Peshawar and received Masters degree in Urdu and Persian from Peshawar University. He later became a lecturer at the Peshawar University.
During his college life, he was impressed by the progressive poets Faiz Ahmad Faiz and Ali Sardar Jafri.
He also served as Chairman, National Book Foundation.
